Tournament Critiques

Penn Valley 18 teams, 7/28-29. Rankings not followed.

Fremont 7/28-29 cancelled, couldn’t get fields.

Pleasanton 32 teams, 8/4-5. Lack field prep in Pleasanton and Fremont field not set up properly. TD had to                   make adjustments to the regular schedule due to time restraints.

Vacaville/Yuba City 24 teams, 8/4-5. Scheduling complaints, lack of field prep, flip flop rule not used                            properly and games not played on fields as advertised.

Carson City 19 teams, 8/11-12. OK

Oroville 8/18-19 cancelled lack of teams.

NCSSA CHAMPIONSHIPS 59 teams, 8/23-26. Not well received by the participants with 23 critiques                         submitted, mostly negative. Not liked: 1-1 count, no ultra ll, scheduling, bracketing, gate fee, some                         umpires and not being allowed to bring in ice chest. Board notes: Adjustments had to be made because of              time, this was not a $ maker and we do not recognize major, AAA etc rankings from other organizations.            It will be recommended to the new board that we discontinue having the championship tournament.

Sparks 9 teams, 9/1-2. OK

Turlock 22 teams, 9/8-9. OK

Oroville 19 teams, 9/15-16. Tried out new schedule for 5 team bracket, that was well received. This will be                          discussed further at the general meeting.

Manteca 16 teams, 9/15-16. OK
