On December 1, the General Meeting was called to order by President Carl Neaterous at 10:18am in the Manteca City Council Chambers. Thank you Willie Weatherford for making the arrangements for the use of the Council Chambers

 

Board members present were: Region 1 Davignon,Kranz, Knee,          Region 2              Region 3 Neaterous, Wagner, Scherer

                                                         Region 4 Tryhorn                                     Region 5 Lanctot, Feinberg  

 

Members present: Approximately 50 members representing 40 teams.

 

Treasurer’s report shows a balance of $4,926 as of 11/30 with all bills paid.

 

Rule Changes (Changes underlined)

Senior Softball World Championships (SSWC) rule book was voted in as our default rule book replacing ASA.

               

Rule 30 Changed to read:  All players can be on 2 NCSSA rosters. Any team may add two players for a tournament but they must be of the same age or older than their roster states. 75+ rosters can have (5) 74+ players and 70+ rosters can have (3) 69+ players. Rosters are limited to 20 players.

 

Rule 25 Changed to read: Tournament directors will have a cut-off date at least ten days prior to the start of their tournament. Brackets must be approved by their Region Representative. Game schedules must be out at least seven days in advance. Entry fees and the NCSSA rosters must be in by the cut-off date. The most recent NCSSA roster is the official roster for that tournament. Tournament Directors are allowed to make adjustments to bring parity to a bracket. (Example, spotting a team five runs giving them one run each inning from the 2nd to the 6th.)

 

Other items or rule changes discussed but did not pass are: eliminating the run thru, force out, eliminating the batters box, increase the size of the matt and changing the five team bracket.

 

Adopting a Managers agreement form was discussed, like that used by SSWC.

 

Team Insurance coverage discussed. It was mentioned that SSWC has competitive rates.
